December 21, 2022: Agra Municipal Corporation has sent a notice to the Taj Mahal administration demanding water tax and property tax payment to the Archeology Department of India, out of which Rs. 1.4 lakh in property tax and Rs.1 crore in drinking water tax. Also, a warning has been given that the Taj Mahal will be sealed if the taxes are not paid within 15 days. According to Rajkumar Patel, Inspector of the Archaeological Survey of India, property tax will not be levied on monuments.
